After spending the first two real years of my business in that space I am completely angered by the two people that caused the problems in that beautiful space, but as I look ahead at I feel that the unknown outcome will bring a better development for Twice Blushed. …stalled but not defeated.
Over the past few months Jen of Blue Sky Bridal and I have been discussing the possibility of pairing our business to better serve you our brides. This week’s topper is designed to stop traffic. Abstractly resembling a lily flower this decorative hat sits on a rounded raindrop shape base. Covered with carefully stretched gold silk shantung to mimic the rushed technique used in dress design and construction to add a slight detail. Adorned around the edge with a row of double satin pleated ribbon. To make this hat multi-functional it is smartly constructed with a single layer detachable veil. Whether we want to admit it or not we all secretly love a good game or day dream of dressing up. The designer in me loves the classic and polished head to toe grace of the English. Of course I am stoked to see the entire country sparkling at the end of this month for the Royal Wedding!
As a hat lover (who feels stifled by the weather and lack of hat respect on this side of the globe) I am delighted to see the gradual interest in hats head decor. Yes, like any good accessories they can be costly - there is a lot of delicate handy work that goes into those little babies! I am fully embracing all the pomp and circumstance for the young upcoming nuptials and passing on my love for hats with a custom hat sale!!!

If you are a face book junkie, you have noticed the blurbs about my photo shot with f83photo at the end of February. If you do not fallow facebook (I know there are a rare few) here is what you missed.
Last Summer Jason Fukura of F83photo and I crossed paths through route of a mutual industry friend. Since then we have been trying to jive schedules to do a fun get together photo shot. After two strike outs, one due to snow, we finally scored some great shots and had a fun and rewarding but long day! Some of the gowns I used were spankin’ new just for the shot, while others are customer favs that have not yet had the opportunity to be photographed.

Starting this week, Blush of the week, will be on pause. This month I am developing a few new gowns and products for a photo shot at the end of this month. More importantly I must focus my attention on May and June brides for their upcoming weddings. In March Blush of the week will be replaced with Bride Tales. Bride Tales, will take you through the reconstructive design process of custom Twice Blushed Brides that are redesigning their Mother or Grandmother’s wedding dress. The brides documented are of the Redux and Couture Reconstructive categories. I have a few that I am itching to start on so I can share them with you!
At this Point I am undecided if Blush of the week will return (its big time commitment that takes me away from designing and sewing.) If you have an opinion please comment via face book, blog, or email.
Strapless A-line dress with corset back and tulle lined underskirt. Fabric is ivory silk shantung with a black velvet burned Damask style pattern. This dress is an acceptation to the twice blushed design concept and is made of all new fabrics. However it is completely one of a kid. The fabric came from a remnants batch of rejects and miss prints. (This particular lot had large sections that were misprints.) Many hours were spent carefully lining the prints. This dress is perfect for a special event or non-traditional bride.
